It's not often that you come across a book that's easy to read without being lightweight. I read Broken Wings in one sitting; it's a real page turner.

The story moves along quickly, sometimes leaving your heart thumping with the anguish that little Shireen knew every day of her life. And there are times you want to scream at her, warning her of a danger you can see but she can't. As the cover says it's a deeply disturbing read, often harrowing, and the author must be admired for her great honesty and courage in baring all in her selfless passion to introduce her readers to the God of her little Gideon Bible.

I like The Tabloid Bible. I didn't at first, I thought, 'Oh no! Not another Bible to fill the already bulging coffers of the publishers!' And while there may be some truth in that, The Tabloid Bible in an odd way helps us to see how we would react to happenings such as the burning bush, the rebuilding of the temple, the garden of Eden and so on.

If by skilful political manipulations the St. Andrews Agreement is made to appear to work – can it last while the hidden magnetic/spiritual forces continue to operate? The reality is that Sinn Fein are covenanted to a United Ireland outcome in the political process, and the DUP/Unionists are likewise committed to maintain the union with Britain . If the changes in demographics and voting patterns over the past couple of decades continue, what happens when the union with Britain is on the line? Will Unionism sit back, fold its arms and say, ‘If that is what the majority want, that is OK with us?' – I think not!
